Loma Rica , CA - Going Green has never been so much fun! Come on out Saturday, August 23 and enjoy the day at Green Aware Fair (GAF) in the open air foothills of Yuba County from 11am-4pm. The day will be filled with workshops and demonstrations, local eco-friendly and natural businesses featuring their products and services, raffled items throughout the day and silent auction, and good green and natural family fun.
The workshops and demonstrations will be presented in a format allowing you to take home and use what you have learned that day. Learn how to compost and start your own garden, create fresh and raw juices that promote better health, bring new purpose to your life with organization and simplifying techniques, and learn what toxic brew may be stirring in your home and how to prevent it. The Green and Natural Tipster will also be on hand to offer simple changes you can make to stretch your hard earned dollars a little further, which is perfect information for these difficult financial times.
There will also be activities for children that include learning about recycling and creating recycled art, making non-toxic playdoh with everyday edible ingredients, and finishing the day with the breaking of the GAF piñata filled with organic and natural candy.
Donations of new and gently used shoes will be collected for Soles4Souls along with needed items for the Oroville Rescue Mission. Please call GAF for shelter donation needs. Don’t let someone else tell you how great GAF was, be there! This is a FREE event. For more information visit, www.greenawarefair.com or call (530) 741-9203. Vendor spaces are still available.

Green Aware Fair Announces Shoe Drive To Benefit Soles4Souls™ Inc., The Shoe Charity, at Green Aware Fair 2008.
Yuba County and surrounding counties are asked to “STEP UP” and "Clean Out their Closets and Recycle their Gently Worn Shoes."
Nashville, TN – June 20, 2008 – Wayne Elsey, the Founder and CEO of Soles4Souls™ Inc., is accustomed to seeing 32,000 pairs of shoes come in and out of the charity’s warehouses each week, but the recent natural disasters in Peru, the US Midwest, and Mexico have left a giant void in the Soles4Souls™ buildings.
Soles4Souls™ is asking for your 'gently worn' shoes and/or donations to ship the shoes. It is estimated that Americans have 1.5 billion pairs of unworn shoes lying around in their closets. The charity can use each and every one of these pairs to make a tangible difference in someone's life.
“We can use the shoes taking up space in your closet to change the world one pair at a time,” Elsey said. “We need our partners in North America and specifically in Yuba County and the surrounding counties, to 'STEP UP' and get behind our call for action. It’s one of the most simple yet profound gifts you can make, because it will greatly improve someone’s life in the most difficult of times,” he said.
In addition, people and companies interested in donating to the effort can visit the organization’s website, Gives Shoes, and follow the instructions. To also assist with the collection at Green Aware Fair 2008 as well as participate as a vendor and/or sponsor, contact Jennifer Smeltser at (530) 741-9203 or E-mail at info@greenawarefair.com.
